ACT appoints industry veteran Mark Dufty as Head of Game Analysis

Advanced Compliance Technology (ACT), a provider of compliance and risk solutions to the regulated betting and gaming industry, has appointed Mark Dufty as its new Head of Game Analysis.

Mr Dufty brings more than 40 years of experience in racing and sports betting operations, spanning odds-making, risk management and regulatory compliance across the United States and international markets.

His previous positions include Director of Trading Services at IGT and Race and Sports Director at Jerry’s Nugget, as well as Assistant Director roles at Hard Rock and Sands Hotel and Casino. He has also led teams in England, Australia, Curaçao and The Bahamas.

In his newly created role, Mr Dufty will lead ACT’s team of analysts responsible for reviewing game, event and integrity alerts generated through the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning-powered compliance platform.

The team will also work on refining ACT’s models when its technology identifies potential risks, with the aim of adapting its systems to changing fraud and integrity threats.

Mr Dufty will also oversee further development of the company's recently launched Fraud Rings tool.

Mike Venner, Director at ACT, said Mr Dufty’s industry knowledge and operational experience made him well suited to the newly created position.

“The nature of our industry is such that more sophisticated syndicates, threats and tactics emerge constantly, and it is essential our models are constantly improving,” he said.

Mr Dufty said real-time oversight is one of ACT's core propositions, with his team tasked with ensuring the company's analysis of emerging threats remains “accurate and trustworthy”.
