Altenar, an established sports betting and iGaming software provider, has deepened its focus on the South African market through the appointment of Brendon Jeacocks as Regional Director.
Mr Jeacocks joins the company with over eight years of industry experience, specialising in finance, regulation and compliance within the online gaming space.
Prior to his new role, he worked as an independent consultant for South African iGaming operators, and previously served as Financial Manager at the African arm of SportPesa.
His appointment marks a milestone in Altenar’s strategic expansion in Africa, following the company’s receipt of a National Manufacturer licence from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in late 2024. The licence allows Altenar to provide its sportsbook platform to licensed operators in South Africa, as well as in other regulated jurisdictions across the continent.
Mr Jeacocks’ role will be instrumental in driving regional engagement. Based in Cape Town, he will lead Altenar’s on-the-ground operations, with a focus on building partnerships and adapting the company’s offering to suit local demand.
“We are delighted to welcome Brendon to the team as he builds our on-the-ground presence in South Africa,” said John Quaye, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Altenar.
“He is well-positioned to forge partnerships and help us tailor our product to meet the region’s growing demand for localised sports betting solutions,” he continued.
Mr Jeacocks echoed this sentiment, noting: “I’m pleased to be joining Altenar at such an exciting time for the company’s ambitions in Africa. I’m currently based in Cape Town and will serve as the local point of contact for our operations here.”
“I look forward to helping to develop Altenar’s presence in South Africa and connecting with the rest of the industry,” he concluded.
