Netherlands-based sports-betting company Fortuna Entertainment Group (FEG) has announced its appointment of Carlo Di Maio as the new CEO of its FEG Romania subsidiary.
The new appointment previously served as general manager at Goldbet and Intralot sportsbook divisions at Italy’s Gamenet Group SPA.
He will now be charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations and growth strategy of FEG Romania – the business subsidiary established by Fortuna after its acquisitions of Hattrick Sports and Fortbet Holdings in 2017.
Romania is Fortuna’s second-largest market outside of the Czech Republic, with more than 6,000 staff in the country and a network of 1,500 outlets.
FEG Romania is formed of the assets of leading bookmaker Casa Pariurilor, merged with the Fortbet gaming properties of Bet Zone SRL, Public Slots SRL, and Slot Arena SR.
The company welcomed Mr Di Maio’s addition, stating he was the optimal candidate to lead its Romanian business units and noting the executive’s past experience leading multi-market operations for Eurobet.
