A new study has discovered the most popular online casino games in Europe and which European cities are Googling them the most.

iGaming experts at new online casinos site Kongebonus gathered a list of well-known casino games, like online blackjack and poker, and then analysed the average monthly search volume over the past 12 months of each one. They examined the search volumes in major European cities, like Paris and Manchester, to determine which online casino games are most popular in Europe.

Europe’s most Googled casino game is keno, a game similar to lotteries, where players pick numbers and win prizes depending on how many numbers are guessed correctly.

On average, online keno accumulates a staggering 553,341 searches a month, and Strasbourg, France, searches for the game the most, with approximately 9,901 monthly searches per 100,000 people.

Poker is next in the ranking, witnessing 214,633 average monthly searches. Citizens of Frankfurt, Germany can’t get enough of online poker, searching for the game 723 times a month per 100,000 residents.

Online slots take fifth place, accumulating 112,483 monthly searches on average. Online slots are most popular in Vigo, Spain, where residents search for slot games 775 times a month per 100,000 people.

Online casino expert Eve Luneborg, at new online casinos site Kongebonus, has commented on the findings: “It is interesting to see online keno, lottery, and bingo games take the top spots in the ranking, as all are simple number drawing games that do not require any strategy or skill from the player. Perhaps games of chance like these are more palatable to online players who do not want to play more complex games like poker or blackjack and prefer straightforward, low risk casino games.

“Arguably, the simplicity of these games is also more enjoyable, and anyone can play them. Whether you are a seasoned gambler or have no experience playing casino games online, you could easily win a game of keno, lottery, or bingo. No pressure, no stress, no skill – just have fun!”
