Malta-based gaming company Betway has announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with Manchester United worth around £20million (€23.3 million) per season.

This deal was struck ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League, the first in which clubs aren’t allowed to promote gambling companies on the front of shirts.

However, Betway has managed to secure a deal which will see its logo feature prominently on the training kits of Manchester United’s men’s and women’s teams.

It will also be visible during matchdays at Old Trafford and at the club’s training base.

This deal was described by The New York Times as one of the highest of its kind in football in terms of a single sponsor.

Man Utd’s Chief Business Officer Marc Armstrong said said the club is delighted with this new deal.

"The scale of our exciting new partnership reflects our growth strategy, the enduring global strength and appeal of Manchester United, and our ability to attract leading brands that want to engage with our vast worldwide fanbase,” he said.

"Betway are a world-renowned brand with significant presence across world sport. We look forward to working together to help accelerate their global ambitions and create new opportunities to bring supporters closer to Manchester United."

Neal Menashe, CEO of Betway’s parent company Super Group also expressed satisfaction.

“We are thrilled that our Betway brand will be the Official Principal Partner and Exclusive Global Betting Partner of one of the world's biggest football clubs. Manchester United's global reach, particularly with their massive fanbase across Africa, aligns perfectly with our key markets,” he said.

"The Premier League is the world's most-watched domestic football competition and provides a powerful platform to connect with fans globally."
