Brazilian esports company Imperial has announced that Malta will host its main European office, marking a significant addition to the island’s fast-growing digital and gaming ecosystem. The new office is expected to open this December.

The announcement was made by the Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, during an event held at Trident Park, where several global executives gathered to unveil new and expanding investments in Malta. Collectively, these new and existing projects are expected to generate €60 million in investment and create 1,300 high-quality jobs by the end of next year.

Meanwhile, other international players have also announced significant developments in Malta’s digital, gaming, and marketing sectors:

  • BLAST TV, a major name in esports broadcasting, revealed plans to reach 3.2 billion followers by 2025. The company is currently in the process of registering its entity in Malta as part of a €10 million investment over the next three years, aimed at hosting and producing global esports events from the island.
  • In video game development, Unity will continue to support the training and education of young Maltese professionals, helping them access high-value opportunities within this emerging creative technology field.
  • In digital marketing, Clever announced it will soon open new offices in Gżira following a €6 million investment. The company has also invested €1.5 million in local video gaming developer NARC.
  • Gentoo Media has completed a €1.2 million upgrade of its facilities, enabling the company to grow its workforce from 70 to 130 employees.

The iGaming sector continues to thrive, with several major operators expanding their local presence:

  • Soft2Bet has invested €20 million over the past four years, inaugurating new offices in Mrieħel and focusing on upskilling local talent.
  • Religa is set to expand its workforce from 200 to 700 employees by year-end through a €21 million investment.
  • Eeze announced a €30 million expansion, including new office spaces, training programmes, and advanced technology infrastructure, with plans to increase its headcount from 500 to 1,200 by the first quarter of 2026.

GamingMalta CEO Ivan Filletti commented on these developments, stating:

“The iGaming Council provides a vital forum for key operators within the industry to openly explore and discuss jurisdictional opportunities and ecosystem initiatives. Today’s Council witnessed the unveiling of major investments – from new esports organisations and office expansions to enhanced operations and talent development initiatives.”

“Together, these milestones signify a strong and forward-looking ecosystem, fully aligned with the Malta Vision 2050,” he concluded.

Malta’s continued success in attracting global investment reinforces its position as a leading hub for digital innovation, iGaming, and esports in Europe, driven by a supportive regulatory environment, skilled workforce, and commitment to sustainable growth.
