Having joined the iGaming industry as a customer service agent fresh off the back of a Business Management degree at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology in 2016, Claire Debono is now the compliance & responsible gaming manager at Greentube, tasked with ensuring the iGaming powerhouse remains responsible and is compliant in jurisdictions around the world.

What attracted you to Greentube, and how would you describe the corporate culture?

Truthfully, I fell into iGaming by accident. I started by working in customer support for a major operator in what was only ever meant to be a short-term job. Despite not being where I wanted to be at that point in my life, I ended up truly enjoying myself, learning so much about the industry. As soon as a I saw that Greentube were hiring I knew I wanted to apply. I fell in love with the company from my very first interview and that love remains today. There’s a big family culture here and I think if you asked anyone else that works here, they would say the same.

How has your role at Greentube developed over the years?

I began my career at Greentube as a compliance officer. I was lucky to have great mentors who gave me all the knowledge and insight I needed to grow within my role and this coupled with the pro-learning culture meant I’ve been able to progress quicky and I was promoted within a year. I helped grow a team that monitors our player base from a player protection point of view, and we now have a great team of thirteen agents, which is amazing considering there was just one when I started.

What is your focus for the future of your career?

Personally, I hope to continue growing within my role at Greentube! As we all know, the iGaming industry is constantly evolving, and we must evolve alongside it. Thankfully the company encourages training and development, so this should serve me well. In terms of my day-to-day focus, I’m always looking at new and emerging markets. It’s a fascinating aspect of my job as there’s always so much to learn every time Greentube looks at expanding somewhere new.
