"But the Maltese impressed me the most," Mr Zhuk said, adding: "They called me directly, asking how we are doing here. They know everything and follow our news."

Many have also expressed support for on a personal level, emphasising he and his family's safety as opposed to discussing business practices.

"When I try to talk about the common business processes, they all say, 'mate, now it doesn't matter, just let us know if you and your family are safe,'" he explained.

He proclaimed, "Malta is with us," explaining how he has been approached by a lot of volunteers who went from Malta to Ukraine to help the country.

"It's amazing that such a distant country, which is essentially an island, supports us so much. Thank you guys. Grazzi."
