More than 100 million viewers tuned in for the first-ever Blast Premier Bounty Final held in Malta yesterday (Sunday). This marked the first major event between competitive entertainment leader BLAST, GamingMalta, and the Malta Gaming Authority.

The three year partnership will nine Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) and Dota 2 events hosted on the island, marking Malta’s place on the global esports map. BLAST has invested in a 1,000 square-metre studio and operations centre in Ta’ Qali. This is where 32 teams have completed for $500,000 in the Malta studios. 

Team Spirit were crowned champions of season 2 finals after sweeping The MongolZ 3-0, banking over $126,000 in prize money. 

Known for its unique “bounty” format, the tournament allowed teams to select their opponents and raise the stakes through strategic wagers – a fresh twist on traditional esports formats.

BLAST, renowned for delivering high-octane esports tournaments in iconic locations such as London, Rio and Singapore, is bringing its award-winning production to Malta as part of a long-term strategy to expand its global reach.
