Lawyer Terence Cassar has been recognised as one of the world’s Global Market Leaders in Gaming & Gambling in the latest global rankings published by Chambers and Partners.
In a LinkedIn post, Dr Cassar said he was “super proud (and truly humbled)” to share that the Chambers global rankings are out, noting that he had not only improved his individual ranking in Corporate/Commercial Law but had also been recognised as a Global Market Leader in Gaming & Gambling. He expressed gratitude to GTG – Malta Law Firm, as well as to clients, colleagues and partners “for the continued trust and support”.
Dr Cassar is a Partner at GTG and is responsible for the firm’s Intellectual Property, Data Protection & Privacy, and Technology, Media and Telecommunications practices. His work spans Gaming & Betting Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, software and IT law, electronic signatures, fintech and broader commercial law matters.
He advises a range of B2C and B2B technology and gaming companies – including listed entities, operators, suppliers, game developers, affiliates, payment providers and intermediaries – on regulatory, transactional and advisory matters across gaming, intellectual property, data protection and technology law.
Over the years, Dr Cassar has led and advised on a number of high-profile M&A transactions in the gaming and technology sectors, in addition to negotiating major software-related transactions and licensing agreements. His practice also includes advising on GDPR compliance, data protection litigation, and data-sharing frameworks.
Beyond his legal practice, he is a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors and the Chamber of Advocates. He also serves as a Visiting Lecturer and Examiner at the University of Malta and sits on the boards of various gaming, technology and intellectual property companies.
