The Pools has appointed Caroline Newman as its new Director of Regulatory Compliance as the company continues to navigate a period of regulatory change and internal restructuring.

Ms Newman will be responsible for supporting the brand’s efforts to sustain responsible growth while maintaining strong governance and compliance practices. She brings over a decade of experience in the compliance sector, most recently serving as Head of Anti-Financial Crime and MLRO for UK and Ireland at Entain, and previously spending four years at UK betting operator Midnite as Head of Compliance and MLRO.

Her earlier experience includes compliance roles with B2B industry brands Inspired, Playtech and Odobo.

The appointment follows a series of senior hires at The Pools over the past 18 months. These include the appointment of former LeoVegas Group Head of Safer Gambling and Anti-Money Laundering Joseph Carter-Bell as Director of Customer Success and Operations, alongside Gemma Strath-Billington as Head of Group Marketing, Phillip Donegan as Chief Technology Officer, Chris Williams as Head of Product and Matt Knowles as Head of CRM. The company also underwent a major rebranding campaign last year.

Ms Newman said: “I want to support The Pools in upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance and player protection, especially in a landscape that continues to evolve.

“I want to work with colleagues to ensure compliance stays embedded in the culture of The Pools,” she added.
