The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) and VIXIO Gambling Compliance are hosting a webinar on Thursday 16th June (11.00-12.00 CEST) to discuss online advertising and intellectual property rights (IPR).
The internet’s advertising ecosystem is very complex and can lead to advertising from legitimate brands, including gambling companies, finding itself placed on websites and apps which infringe upon IPR, such as streaming websites for sports, movies or TV shows.
These types of websites or apps generate their revenues by selling advertising space but the presence of advertising from legitimate brands on these platforms can confuse consumers and lead them to believe that the content provided on these platforms is legal.
With the gambling sector responsible for 25 per cent of advert impressions on IPR-infringing websites in the EU, this webinar will explore the issue further and outline practical steps that gambling operators and their advertising affiliates can follow to promote responsible advert placement and protect IPR.
Topics for discussion:
Speakers on the day include Daniele Perrone – senior legal advisor with the EGBA, Angélique Monneraye – policy officer within DG Grow at the European Commission, Peter Szyszko – CEO and founder of White Bullet and Jarrison Sayers – journalist with VIXIO GamblingCompliance.
