Casino games provider Livespins has announced its appointment of iGaming industry veteran Michael Pedersen as CCO.
He brings over 14 years of experience to the role, having spent stints at industry leaders Flutter and NetEnt, where his commercial leadership skills are cited as having been a major driving factor in the ongoing growth and development of both brands on a global stage.
Most recently, he acted as director of acquisition and brand at PokerStars, after co-founding leading local iGaming content company iGamingNext.
He also has an MBA from the University of Leicester and a number of executive programs from Stanford under his belt.
This experience was recognised by Livespins co-founder Robin Reed, who reflected he has worked on both the supplier and operator Sid of the industry, and has “the passion, experience and network needed to make LiveSpins valuable to users, game studios, streamers and operators alike.”
In the position, he will be tasked with managing all aspects of Livespins’ commercial strategy, including sales, account management and marketing. Additionally, he will be a key figurehead for the brand at conferences, media events and forums, as it looks set to expand its operations going into 2022.
LiveSpins launched at iGamingNext earlier this year, with the company said to have generated a buzz among game providers, casino operators and live streamers alike due to its unique blend of live gaming and social engagement.
The platform allows multiple players to watch their favourite streamer and bet behind a play, creating a group bet and a shared betting experience on the same spin.
On the platform, players are free to choose the bet amount and number of spins they prefer. Adding a further degree of user engagement sees the ability to chat with the group and add reactions as the streamer spins the reels and anticipation builds.
The appointee celebrated his new role, saying: “Livespins is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and innovative brands in the online gambling industry and I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to add my commercial leadership experience to what is already a highly-skilled team.
“I’ve been an early believer in creating social casino experiences and the Livespins product has really cracked the code and is creating a completely new category in the casino space.
“The simplicity of the bet-behind mechanic mixed with the unparralled engagement only live streaming can offer will drive significant value for all stakeholders and we look forward to establishing partnerships with the most innovative operators and game providers of our industry in the near future.”
