Technology and content media group Spotlight Sports Group (SSG) have announced that chief operations officer Mark Renshaw will assume the role as CEO with immediate effect after 14 years with the company. He takes over from Alan Byrne who will stay on as a director in a new advisory role.

The group will upscale its drive to further its expansion strategy in the UK and US. In a press release, the company stated that Mr Renshaw will ‘lead the next phase of growth’ for the company.

New chief executive officer Mark Renshaw said that he spent the last few months working with Mr Byrne to define the areas of growth within the business and identify new opportunities.   He thanked Mr Byrne for supporting him to take on the new role and for enabling him to “leverage his remarkable experience in his new capacity”.  He expressed his excitement about developing the B2B division globally with partnerships that will “drive sustainable and attributable revenue growth”.

Former CEO Alan Byrne said he is delighted with the new appointment adding that Mr Renshaw had made a remarkable contribution to the group’s continued success. He firmly believes that the company will continue to grow in the UK, North America and other emerging markets.
