Flutter Entertainment, the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming with offices in Malta, has appointed Stefan Bomhard as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective 1st October 2025.
Mr Bomhard brings with him a wealth of international business expertise, having held senior leadership roles across some of the world’s most recognised consumer brands.
He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Imperial Brands plc, a global business with a portfolio of international cigarette and tobacco products. He will step down as CEO on 30th September 2025 and continue to serve on the company’s Board until 31st December 2025.
His executive career also includes senior posts at Inchcape, Bacardi, Cadbury, Unilever Food Solutions Europe, Diageo and Procter & Gamble. In addition, he serves as a Non-Executive Director at Compass Group.
Welcoming the appointment, John Bryant, Chair of Flutter’s Board, commented:
“Stefan has significant experience working in international environments, particularly in the operation, sales and marketing of well-known consumer brands. We look forward to Stefan joining the Board and contributing to Flutter’s future.”
The move is part of Flutter’s ongoing board renewal strategy, following an extensive search to strengthen its governance and leadership team.
In July, Flutter secured full ownership of FanDuel from Boyd Gaming Corporation, taking full ownership of the US market leader in a landmark $1.755 billion agreement. This lead to the company reporting a a strong second quarter for 2025, with group revenue climbing 16 per cent year-on-year to $4.19 billion.
