Tipico Group has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of ADMIRAL Austria, strengthening its foothold in one of the German-speaking region’s most competitive markets.
The deal sees Tipico take over 100 per cent of ATLAS Group GmbH, the parent company of ADMIRAL Group in Austria, from NOVOMATIC AG.
The acquisition represents a strategic milestone for Tipico, enabling the company to expand its Austrian presence while broadening its digital portfolio.
The deal is being pitched as being set to reshape Austria’s betting and gaming landscape by bringing together ADMIRAL’s strong brand presence and Tipico’s digital expertise.
Both the Tipico and ADMIRAL brands will remain active in Austria, continuing to serve players with online offerings. However, in line with conditions set by Austria’s Federal Competition Authority, Tipico will divest a large portion of its retail outlets.
The remaining shops will be integrated into ADMIRAL’s existing network and operated under the ADMIRAL brand.
Axel Hefer, CEO of Tipico Group, said the transaction reflects the group’s long-term ambitions: “ADMIRAL is a leading Austrian company with a strong legacy and clear potential for future growth. Both companies are synonymous with state-of-the-art technology, innovative products, and a high focus on player protection. Our future collaboration is very good news for our customers.”
Mr Hefer added that the move underscores Tipico’s growth strategy and reinforces its role as a market leader across German-speaking countries.
For NOVOMATIC, the sale marks a pivot towards further international expansion.
