Malta-based gambling affiliate Time2Play has entered into a partnership with renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian reporter will deliver a weekly column covering predictions, transfer news, and the stories behind the stories with a focus on US football.

This comes amid growing American interest in football ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on home soil.

Mr Romano's column will be published exclusively on Time2play, translated and distributed across the platform's US, Italian, Spanish, and Canadian editions, and shared directly to the journalist’s verified social channels.

Time2play is an affiliate iGaming firm launched in 2021 and acquired by the St Julian’s, Malta-based GiG in 2023.

Following the spin-off of GiG Media into Gentoo, Time2play has been Gentoo’s US gaming flagship site.

"Sometimes when you have so many things to report, there is little time to add quality,” said Mr Romano.

“You have the breaking news, the big story, but to enter into the details, to get behind the scenes, sometimes it's not easy. Now with Time2play, we will find that time together. I'm looking forward to that.”

Time2play said its mission has “always been to give players and fans a trusted, independent source they can rely on", and the extension of Mr Romano is an extension of that same standard.

"I've been a soccer fan my whole life. I know what good coverage looks like and I know what's been missing in the US,” said Rui Costa, Head of Content at Time2play.

“Romano doesn't speculate. He doesn't sensationalise. He tells you what's real. In a sport with as much controversy as soccer, that matters more than people think. We're proud to bring that to our audience."
