Malta-based digital entertainment supplier Playson has promoted Cosmin Tanase to Head of Compliance on a permanent basis.
Mr Tanase had initially assumed responsibility for Playson’s compliance function on an interim basis, taking on the role during a period when the company secured market approval in the Philippines and filed a licensing application in Alberta.
Playson said that, since joining the company in 2024, Mr Tanase played a central part in maintaining business continuity across multiple regulated markets while overseeing a broad range of critical compliance activities.
“Cosmin has delivered against key milestones, including overseeing certifications, game approvals and regulatory submissions. He has also supported new market entries, such as Alberta and the Philippines, strengthened monitoring processes and driven improvements across a number of key operational areas,” it said.
Playson added that his appointment to the Head of Compliance role on a permanent basis reflects his strong ownership and cross-functional leadership skills.
“As Playson continues to expand across regulated markets, strong compliance remains essential to supporting that growth, and Cosmin will play a key role in ensuring the business continues to grow safely and sustainably,” it said.
Vsevolod Lapin, Deputy CEO at Playson, said: “Cosmin has proven himself as a strong leader, taking the reins shortly after Playson received PAGCOR approval and helping to shape our Alberta market entry strategy. His permanent position in the role of Head of Compliance proves our trust and confidence in him as we continue to seek sustainable growth in regulated global markets.
Mr Tanase expressed his satisfaction at the announcement.
"The interim period has been hugely rewarding, giving me the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the business and contribute to some important regulatory priorities. I look forward to building on this progress as Playson continues to grow across regulated markets,” he said.
