Lena Nordin

Betsson Group’s chief HR officer, Lena Nordin, has lived in seven different countries and worked in senior HR positions at Baxter, Gambro and Ericsson.

She has a background in talent management and company culture, with more than 25 years of HR experience. She joined Betsson in October 2017 and is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s human capital strategy.

What has been the most important moment in your career so far?

Joining Betsson and becoming part of the amazing world of iGaming. It is still a relatively young industry, so I have been able to help shape the leadership, company culture and employee experience. Four years down the line, I still feel there is so much potential!

How do you hope your work will influence iGaming?

As one of the largest operators in iGaming, Betsson has been at the forefront of a lot of developments. Other companies consider what we do as a blueprint for how things should be done. We are very proactive, which I think is key; speaking at conferences and sharing our knowledge is a core part of what we do.

What is your prediction for the future of iGaming in Malta?

We are seeing a number of consolidations at the moment but, overall, I predict future growth. I think the industry is still somewhat unknown to the people outside it, so we need to join forces to raise awareness, educate and communicate what we are all about.

This is the fifth part of an eight-part feature first carried in the Winter 2021/2022 edition of iGaming Capital magazine, the sister publication to iGamingCapital.mt, on the eight most influential women in Malta’s iGaming sector
