Set up in 2019, Exacta Solutions is a Malta-based recruitment and M&A specialist focussed on the iGaming sector. Co-founder Anthony Hennessy heads up the recruitment side of the business, ensuring the company continues to anticipate major changes in candidate and employer needs.

Mr Hennessy himself hails from an extensive background in gaming, having worked with industry titans such as Paddy Power and Ladbrokes. In 2010, he shifted to focus on the recruitment side of industry with a focus on Europe and emerging global territories.

“The past few years have brought about big changes to the recruitment landscape with new trends set to leave a lasting impact,” he shares.

“One of the unexpected benefits of the rise of remote recruitment caused by the pandemic, is that it is creating greater globalisation within the industry.”

With more remote and hybrid opportunities becoming available, Mr Hennessy adds, many iGaming start-ups are increasingly looking overseas to attract experienced iGaming candidates to join their ranks and build up successful businesses in emerging territories, such as Brazil, India, and Bulgaria.

“This has led to the market becoming increasingly candidate driven. iGaming companies are keen to attract candidates with highly specialised skills and knowledge, who have a proven track record within the industry. This means experienced applicants are beginning to hold more power in the recruitment process.”

As top candidates have plenty of opportunities to choose from, iGaming companies are needing to employ more creative recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Key to this is a greater emphasis on employer branding.

“Attracting top talent has become crucial to building a truly successful iGaming business in today’s increasingly competitive market. That’s why when we work with employers, we encourage them to consider their entire candidate experience, from the benefits they are offering to their job notices, interview process, and so on. Sending a consistent and appealing message to candidates really pays off in the end,” Mr Hennessy explains.
