Malta-headquartered Yggdrasil Gaming has appointed David Hopkins as Chief Transformation Officer as the company moves into its next phase of growth.
Mr Hopkins joins Yggdrasil with experience from major global gaming organisations, including Flutter and Entain. He has a track record of leading transformation initiatives across complex, high-growth businesses.
In his new role, Mr Hopkins will work across Yggdrasil’s product, technology, commercial, marketing, finance and legal functions. His remit will include simplifying and streamlining the company’s operations and developing an effective model for execution and growth.
A central part of his mandate will be Yggdrasil’s three strategic pillars: Game in a Box™, Studio in a Box™ and YGG Masters. Hopkins will work to ensure each has the structure, capabilities and commercial focus required to scale and deliver long-term value.
James Curwen, CEO of Yggdrasil, said Mr Hopkins was an important addition to the company at this stage of its development.
“David is a hugely important hire for Yggdrasil, and I’m incredibly excited to have him on board. He brings exactly the combination of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and industry experience we need at this stage of our journey,” Mr Curwen said.
“As we continue to grow, our priority is to make sure the organisation is set up to move with greater clarity, speed, and accountability. David has a proven ability to work across complex businesses, bring teams together, and turn ambitious strategies into practical, measurable outcomes. I have every confidence that his experience and leadership will have a significant impact on Yggdrasil and on the value, we create for our customers, partners and shareholders,” he added.
Mr Hopkins said Yggdrasil had established a strong platform for its next stage and that his focus would be on supporting the company’s evolution.
“Yggdrasil has built a strong platform for what comes next, and that is what makes this opportunity so compelling. My focus will be on helping the business turn its strengths into even greater impact - creating the right structure, focus and alignment to support the next stage of Yggdrasil’s evolution,” Mr Hopkins said.
