Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has announced the appointment of Matthew Saxon as chief technology officer (CTO) for Platform & Sportsbook, as GiG continues to strengthen its senior executive team under Platform and Sportsbook CEO Richard Carter.

A proven technical leader with an extensive 30-year tenure across iGaming and financial sectors, in a resume that includes executive positions at Sportradar and PWC, Matt brings deep technical experience and commercial acumen to the role of CTO. With a background in delivering scalable, innovative and agile tech solutions, Matt has been a key figure in developing leading architecture across platform, sportsbook and AI driven tools, performing a pivotal role in a number of successful products and services.

The latest in a string of high profile arrivals at GiG, Matt will help to drive forward the technical vision for the business, overseeing the engineering strategy and architecture at GiG Platform & Sportsbook. He will be responsible for leading and inspiring the ongoing development of GiG’s full suite of innovative solutions and features, including all engineering and infrastructure, platform migrations and its market leading GiG Data and GiG Logic tools.

Matt’s strategic appointment will help to accelerate GiG’s ambitious plans for production focused growth, as the business continues to invest heavily in its product and technological capabilities, providing an ever more compelling suite of full service product features for its global addressable market.

Focused to deliver higher player acquisition and retention, GiG’s innovative, feature lead AI stack currently powers over 60 brands in some of the most complex markets worldwide, and has been gathering considerable praise from across the industry. This positive momentum being reinforced by its headline ‘Full service platform’ and ‘Multi-channel supplier’ successes at the 2023 EGR global B2B awards earlier this year.
