Michael Gilboy has announced his departure from LeoVegas Group after nearly five years with the iGaming operator, marking the end of a period that saw the company undergo significant changes, including its acquisition by MGM Resorts International.

"It's been a proper chapter," he wrote, recalling that LeoVegas Group was acquired by MGM Resorts International just six months after he joined the business.

Mr Gilboy has more than 15 years of experience in human resources and talent acquisition, having worked across the information technology, financial services and gaming industries.

During his tenure at LeoVegas Group, his responsibilities included overseeing talent acquisition strategies for the company's operations and commercial teams, working with stakeholders on workforce planning and supporting recruitment processes.

Reflecting on his departure, Mr Gilboy expressed gratitude towards his colleagues and the team he had led.

"I've been afforded the opportunity to work with some wonderful people both past and present and to lead a fantastic team through some of the most defining moments for LeoVegas Group, and for that I am very grateful."

Unlike previous career transitions, Mr Gilboy confirmed that he will not be moving immediately into another position.

Instead, he intends to take some time away from work to focus on his personal life and sporting commitments, including preparations for his first standalone marathon in Manchester and another Ironman 70.3 event.

However, he indicated that discussions regarding potential future opportunities are already taking place.

"I have some very interesting conversations bubbling away in the background, and I'm excited to see how they progress over the next few weeks," he said.
