Former director of gaming at Casumo, Jacqui Gatt, has been appointed as the new COO of LeoVegas-backed iGaming technology provider SharedPlay.

With the move, she rejoins former colleague Karolina Pelc, who is the start-up’s founder and CEO.

London and Krakow-based SharedPlay is a promising start-up that aims to deliver new technology to power a transformation in the multiplayer gaming experience.

The appointment of Ms Gatt comes after the company’s strategy was kickstarted by a major investment from LeoVegas Group, which via its LeoVentures investment unit invested €1.1 million for 25 per cent of the shares in the company.

Ms Pelc, who has described the latest addition as “one of the most prominent women casino product executives in the industry”, added that it was a “proud moment” to see her join the team.

“With such vast experience, an immaculate reputation, and versatile skill set, she would be an asset to every company – but I truly believe, with what we can offer, we can appeal to her true passion for product and operations”, she added.

Ms Gatt concurs, acknowledging that there are major opportunities to innovate in the online entertainment space and deliver products that will offer brand new immersive and community-based experiences for players.

“It is truly a pleasure to work with Karolina once again, as well as the talented team of people at SharedPlay,” she said.

“Looking at social, music and video streaming entertainment apps, the ‘shared experience’ concept is bang on trend. Our goal is to deliver a similar product for online casinos”, she explained.
