The move is a significant step in Meridianbet’s to win market share in Malta after being bought by the Golden Matrix Group earlier this year

Meridianbet has announced that it is now the title sponsor of Malta FA Trophy, which is now named the Meridianbet FA Trophy.

The three-year sponsorship agreement was touted as a “tremendous honour” for the firm, which has been active in Malta for 17 years.

“This sponsorship not only advances the development of football at all levels but also strengthens our existing community initiatives,” said Stefan Pavlovic, Director of Meridian Gaming Ltd (Meridianbet Malta).

Bjorn Vassallo, President of the Malta FA, added, “The Malta FA is focused on elevating football and its community across all levels. Partnering with Meridianbet, a company deeply rooted in Malta, perfectly aligns with our mission to inspire, achieve excellence, and promote a strong sporting culture. Together, we aim to drive positive social change and reinforce national pride.”

Earlier this year, Meridianbet Group, which is active in 18 jurisdictions, was acquired by the Nasdaq-listed Golden Matrix.
